Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.
Bed length is measured inside the box, not along the outside of the truck.

A crossover box spans the bed at the front and sits on the rails, which keeps the bed floor clear underneath it. Other boxes mount along a side rail or sit flat on the bed floor. Which one suits you comes down to what else the bed has to do: haul long material, work with a bed cover, or carry a full load of gear every day.

Common Questions
What is a crossover tool box?
A crossover mounts across the width of the bed, resting on the bed rails just behind the cab. The lid opens upward and you can reach into it from either side of the truck. It is the most common style because it uses the space at the front of the bed that is hardest to reach from the tailgate anyway.
Will a tool box work with a tonneau cover?
Sometimes. Some covers are built to work with a box at the front of the bed and some are not, and the height of the box matters as much as the cover. Check the pair together before you order either one. Staff at any of our stores can confirm the combination against your truck.
Can I still haul in the bed with a box installed?
Yes. A crossover sits above the bed floor at the front, so the floor underneath stays usable and the rest of the bed is untouched. What you lose is length: a box at the bulkhead shortens what will lie flat in the bed, which matters if you regularly carry long material.
