Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.
Bed length is measured inside the box, not along the outside of the truck.

Covers get chosen by where the vehicle sits. A garage-kept car mostly needs a dust barrier, something soft against the paint that stops grit settling on it. Parked outside, the job changes: sun and moisture become the problem, and the cover has to breathe so water that finds its way underneath can get back out.
Fit matters more than people expect. A loose cover flaps in wind, and flapping fabric over dirty paint acts like sandpaper. Covers listed for a specific year, make and model sit tighter than a universal size and stay where you put them.
Blue Ox tow bar covers are a different item. They go over the tow bar itself rather than the vehicle, keeping weather off the hardware between trips.
Common Questions
Will a cover scratch my paint?
Not on its own. The damage comes from dirt trapped between the cover and the paint, or from a loose cover moving in the wind. Wash the vehicle before you cover it, keep the cover itself clean, and choose one that fits closely enough that it does not billow. Vehicle-specific covers are far easier to keep tight than universal ones.
Do I need an indoor cover or an outdoor cover?
Indoors you are fighting dust and the occasional bump, so a soft lightweight cover is enough. Outdoors it has to handle sun and rain and still breathe, so moisture underneath can escape instead of sitting against the paint. Buying an indoor cover and using it outside is the most common mistake in this category.
