Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.

Two fairly different products share this page. Crossbars and carriers are the light end: bars that span the roof, plus the cargo bags and nets that strap over them. CURT covers most of that side.
The other end is the platform rack, a steel frame that covers the roof, gives you a flat bounded surface to strap to, and on many of them provides mounting points for lighting. They weigh considerably more than crossbars and they change how a vehicle looks, which is usually part of the point.
WEATHER GUARD and WeatherTech sit on the work side of the aisle. Whichever end you are shopping, the number that matters is your vehicle's roof load rating. The rack can be plenty strong while the roof is not, and that limit comes from the vehicle manufacturer rather than from the rack.
Common Questions
How much weight can I put on the roof?
That is set by your vehicle rather than by the rack. Look up the roof load rating in the owner's manual, and remember the weight of the rack itself counts against it. Dynamic limits, meaning what you can carry while driving, are lower than static limits, which is why rooftop loads should stay light and be tied down properly.
What is the difference between crossbars and a platform rack?
Crossbars are two bars spanning the roof, and you strap cargo across them or clamp a carrier to them. A platform rack is a full frame that covers the roof and gives you a flat, bounded surface to load onto plus mounting points for accessories. Platforms hold more; crossbars are lighter and easier to live with day to day.
Do roof racks fit any vehicle?
