Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.
Bed length is measured inside the box, not along the outside of the truck.

The film is clear, so the color or the lens underneath still reads the way it should. What changes is what the abrasion hits.

What does paint protection film actually stop?
It takes the abrasion. Sand, salt, grit and bug strikes hit the film instead of the surface underneath. Think of it as a wear layer: it takes the damage and can be replaced, while what is under it stays as it was. It is not armor, and a hard impact is still a hard impact.
