Exhaust Hardware & Accessories

The Hardware an Exhaust Install Needs

An exhaust system is the loud part. This is everything else: the hardware, brackets and small parts that finish the install and the pieces that get replaced when one goes back together. It is the shelf you end up on halfway through a Saturday, and the parts here are cheap next to the delay of not having them.

Borla and MagnaFlow Exhaust Products supply most of this section, and their hardware is grouped by brand so you can stay inside the system you already own.

A handful of related parts from other brands sit here too. Blue Ox has a mud flap heat shield, Kleinn Automotive Accessories contributes lead hose, B&W Trailer Hitches adds gooseneck hardware, and Rugged Ridge covers a few Jeep pieces.

Two things are worth checking before you order. First, whether the exhaust kit you bought already includes its own clamps and hangers, since many do and you would be buying twice. Second, whether the hardware you are looking at belongs to the same system, because brands size their components to their own tubing. Filter by brand and it sorts itself out quickly.

Common Questions

Do I need to buy hardware separately when I install an exhaust?

Sometimes. Plenty of exhaust systems ship with everything needed to hang them, and then the only reason to be in this section is a replacement. Others assume you are reusing what is on the truck, which is a problem if it has spent ten years under a road-salted vehicle. Read what is in the box before you start.

Does hardware from one brand work with another brand's exhaust?

Not reliably. Manufacturers size clamps and hangers around their own tubing diameters and mounting points, so mixing them is where an install turns into an afternoon of trimming. If you know whose system is on the truck, filter to that brand first and only look outside it if nothing matches.
