H&H metal carports come in widths of 12, 16, 20, 24, 30, 35 or 40 feet, lengths from 21 to 101 feet and leg heights from 7 to 12 feet. A 12' x 21' x 7' open carport with a round roof starts at $2,256 installed by our own crew, before sales tax.

Carports are open on all four sides unless the row says otherwise. Adding walls, doors, windows or a longer length changes the price; the designer prices every change as you make it.

Round roof or vertical roof: which costs less?

A round roof costs less; a vertical roof costs about 20% more on the same building. Both styles are offered on every size, and you can switch between them in the designer to see each one in 3D.

How tall should the legs be?

Leg height runs from 7 to 12 feet. Taller legs cost more, and 12 feet is the height H&H prices for an RV cover. This is what a 20' x 26' open carport costs at each height.

On buildings 12 feet tall or taller, the customer also pays for equipment rental on install day.

How long does installation take, and what does the site need?

Most installs finish in 1 to 3 days. The site needs a square, level pad, preferably concrete, and for an enclosed building the pad should be the exact size of the frame. Leave at least 5 feet of flat ground on all four sides for ladders, have electrical power within 100 feet, and clear trees, fences, posts and vehicles before install day.

What is a carport made of?

A 14-gauge galvanized steel frame with 29-gauge sheeting and a 3:12 roof pitch, made in the USA. The steel carries a 20-year rust-through warranty, and H&H adds its own 1-year warranty against roof leaks on the installation.

Permits are the customer's responsibility, and rules vary by county and city. Ask your nearest H&H store about permits, anchoring or wind ratings for your address.

Can I buy a carport and install it myself?
