H&H Truck & Outdoor

Warranty

Warranty, handled at the counter

Nearly everything we sell carries a manufacturer’s warranty. The coverage and its length are set by the manufacturer, not by us. What we change is where you take it: you claim it through an H&H store, in person, instead of shipping a bed cover across the country and waiting to hear back.

How a claim works

  1. Bring the part, or the truck it’s on, to any H&H store. The store you collected from has your record, so start there if you can — and bring your receipt or order number.
  2. We look at it with you. If it looks like a warranty fault, we file the claim with the manufacturer for you. The manufacturer decides the claim and what the remedy is — repair, replacement, or parts.
  3. You deal with us throughout. A few manufacturers require you to contact them directly or send the part in; if yours is one of them, we’ll tell you up front and walk you through it.

What the manufacturer covers

Coverage and length vary by product and brand — some carry a limited lifetime warranty, others one to five years. The paperwork in the box is the authority. If you want to know before you buy, call the store and ask; we’d rather tell you than have you guess.

What a warranty doesn’t cover

  • Accident, collision, theft and weather damage.
  • Normal wear, fading and corrosion from age and use.
  • Damage from incorrect installation, modification, or use the part wasn’t made for.
  • Labor, unless the manufacturer’s own terms include it. If the manufacturer replaces a part under warranty, the replacement part is free but putting it on may not be — where their terms don’t cover labor, our normal installation rate applies, and we’ll tell you what it comes to before we start.

If we installed it

Our installation work is our responsibility. If something we installed comes loose, leaks, or wasn’t fitted right, bring it back within 90 days and we’ll make our work right at no charge for labor. That covers our workmanship. It doesn’t cover the product itself — that’s the manufacturer’s warranty above — or damage after the fact, or work somebody else has done to it since.

Sheds, carports and garages

These are the exception, because nobody is bringing one to a counter. Call the store you ordered from rather than bringing anything in, and we’ll arrange to look at the building on site.

Returns are a separate thing from warranty. A special order can’t be returned, but it carries its manufacturer’s warranty like anything else — the return terms are on our Returns & Refunds page.
