Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.

The case for keeping a bottle behind the seat is simple. Most of what dulls paint between washes is light: dust, pollen, a few water spots, handprints around the tailgate. Washing for that is overkill, and a dry towel just pushes grit around. A detailer gives the towel something to work with, so you are lifting dirt instead of dragging it.
Use it on a cool surface out of direct sun, work one panel at a time, and use clean microfiber. That is most of the technique. It is not a substitute for a wash when the vehicle is genuinely dirty, because on heavy grime it will move that grime across the paint rather than remove it.

What is a paint detailer?
A spray-on, wipe-off product for paint that is only lightly soiled. It lifts dust, pollen and fingerprints, adds some gloss and leaves a little protection behind. Think of it as maintenance between washes rather than a wash replacement. It is what you use to make an already clean truck look clean again.
Can I use it instead of washing?
Only when the vehicle is barely dirty. On a lightly dusty surface a detailer works well and takes a few minutes. On road film, mud or bug splatter it will drag grit across the paint and leave swirl marks behind. If you can see or feel real dirt, wash the vehicle first and detail it afterwards.
What else do I need?
Clean microfiber towels, and more of them than you expect. Use one to spread and lift and another to buff dry, and swap them out as they load up with dirt. Work in the shade on a cool panel, because a detailer flashes off too quickly on hot paint and leaves streaks you then have to chase.
