Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.

Two mounting approaches show up here. Some kits use existing holes on trucks that came with cab lights from the factory or were prepared for them. Others are for a solid roof, which means drilling. Know which one you are buying before you get up on the cab, because that decision cannot be undone.

Whatever you choose, sealing is the part that matters. Any hole in a cab roof needs sealant at the gasket and around the fastener, and that is where a rushed job goes wrong months later.
Common Questions
Do roof marker lights require drilling?
It depends on the truck and the kit. Some vehicles came with the roof already prepared for cab lights, and a kit made for them uses those points. On a solid roof, mounting means drilling and then sealing the holes properly. The listing will tell you which applies, and every H&H Truck & Outdoor store can handle the install.
What are cab lights for?
They are marker lights. On tall vehicles they show other drivers the width and height of what is coming, which is why full-size and heavy-duty trucks wear them from the factory. On a pickup they do that job and change the look of the truck at the same time, which is why so many people add them.
Will they leak?
Not if they are sealed correctly. Every roof penetration needs sealant at the gasket and around the fastener, and a rushed install is what causes the headliner stains people complain about later. If you are not comfortable drilling and sealing a cab roof yourself, have a store do the work.
