Measuring your bed
Put a tape measure inside the bed, from the inside of the bulkhead (front wall) to the inside of the closed tailgate. Round to the nearest inch — a 69" measurement is a 5'8" bed.
Bed length is measured inside the box, not along the outside of the truck.

Strap handles are the simplest answer. They loop around a roll bar or sport bar, cinch down, and can be moved in a minute when the seating changes. Rear-seat passengers get the most out of them, since there is often nothing back there to hold onto.
Bolt-on handles are the sturdier answer. Body Armor 4x4 lists roll bar and multi-point handles, Warn and Rough Country add handles of their own, and Fab Fours, Go Rhino and WEATHER GUARD appear as well. A bolted handle takes a real pull, which matters when someone is hauling themselves up rather than just steadying themselves.
Check where a handle is meant to mount before ordering. A strap needs a bar of the right diameter and a bolt-on needs something solid to bolt to. Neither is a problem if you look first, and both are quick jobs.

Strap or bolt-on?
A strap wraps a bar, fits in a minute, and goes wherever you need it. A bolt-on handle is fixed and takes far more force, which is what you want if it is carrying a passenger's whole weight on the way into a lifted rig. A lot of people run both, with straps in the back and solid handles up front.
Will a strap handle fit my roll bar?
Strap handles are sized around bar diameter, so measure the bar before ordering rather than assuming a universal fit. Padded bars in particular are thicker than they look once the cover is counted. If you are between sizes, a store can check the listing against the measurement you took.
