Truck Cap

The DCU is A.R.E.'s baseline commercial cap. The frame is .050-inch aluminum, TIG-welded, and the outer skin is .035-inch aluminum, so it stays light enough not to eat your payload. Full-length side doors mean you reach the middle of the bed from the curb instead of climbing in over the tailgate.

How it differs from the line next to it

This is the entry point of the three commercial aluminum caps, and the only thing separating the three is the skin. The DCU uses a .035-inch smooth aluminum skin. Step up to DCU MAX and the skin nearly doubles to .063-inch. Step up again to Diamond Edition and it is .063-inch polished diamond plate. The .050-inch welded frame, the doors, the handles and the 3-year warranty are the same on all three. Pick the DCU if you want the lightest one and do not need a thicker skin.

Trades and fleets. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, service techs, utility crews. Anyone who works out of the bed every day and needs the load secured, dry and reachable from outside the truck.

Finish: Baked enamel in white, black or silver as standard. Automotive-grade paint matched to your truck's factory paint code is available as an upgrade. Yours is on the sticker in the driver's door jamb.
Warranty: 3-year limited warranty against structural and paint defects. Covers the unit body only: exterior skin, framework and mounting rails.
