Truck CapThe Classic Aluminum is the simple one. A fully welded aluminum frame with a .019-inch textured aluminum skin, so it is light enough for two people to lift off and corrosion is a non-issue. Mitered rear door with clear glass and gas props, mitered front picture window, black trim. It comes in three baked enamel colors, not paint-to-match.

This is the cheapest and lightest cap A.R.E. makes and it is the only one with a 1-year warranty. The commercial DCU is also aluminum but is a different animal: a .050-inch welded frame with a .035-inch skin, full-length side doors, paint-to-match and 3 years of cover. The Classic Aluminum is .019-inch skin, baked enamel only, and built to be affordable and removable rather than to work for a living.
