A.R.E.

A.R.E. CX HD Series

Cab-height fiberglass cap on an internal aluminum skeleton, rack rated to 550 lb.

Truck Cap

The CX HD looks like a fiberglass recreational cap and carries like a commercial aluminum one. A patented aluminum skeleton runs inside the fiberglass shell, which A.R.E. says triples what the roof rack and side toolboxes can carry: 550 lb on the HD roof rack and 200 lb in each diamond plate storage bin. You can also specify aluminum rear doors and side windoors instead of glass.

How it differs from the line next to it

The HD is not another rung on the CX glass ladder; it is a different structure. CX Classic, Evolve and Revo are fiberglass shells that differ in how much of the glass is frameless. The CX HD adds an aluminum skeleton inside the shell so the roof and sides can carry commercial loads, and it offers aluminum doors instead of glass. It is the answer when someone wants a rooftop tent or a real ladder rack on a painted cap. CX HD and MX HD are the same product: CX is the cab-height profile, MX is the mid-height one.

Who it suits

People who need to put real weight on the roof but do not want a commercial aluminum box on the truck. Overland builds with rooftop tents and recovery gear, and trades who want painted fiberglass with commercial load capacity.
